Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after that period of 2023.
The win also means he has won twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a title is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional victory, took control to create a decider.
The opponent rescued four early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
